Burger is a very popular food and everyone loves having either veg one or a non veg ones. The vegetarians tries to make different combination and enjoy the Burger. Of course a Burger with French fries and a Coke is the ideal food for most. I thought of making a nutritious version and what better way to do but Dal, an essential part of our food life. Dal provides most nutrition to our daily food. A grain like Dal is so essential. No Indian food is complete without having Dal. We must have Dal every day. Today I made with Moong Dal and I loved every bite to the Burger. Being conscious to have a food for feeling good, being good and nutrition I was so happy
Serves 1 person
Preparation time -24 hours plus 15 mins, Cooking Time- 45 mins
Ingredients
2/4 Cup Moong Dal
1” ginger grated
2-3 green chillies slit
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 lime juice
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp mustard oil
Salt to taste
Method
Wash and soak Moong Dal overnight. In a mixie before having a coarse paste add all spices and make a coarse paste. Put the mix in a greased container and pour the batter. Steam in a bowl with hot water at half the level of the air tight bowl for 20 mins. Put a toothpick to see whether it’s done. If not steam for another 5 mins. Open the container and cool and halve the burger. Make a Patti and serve the way you would like. I made a Vegetarian Galauti Kabab as Patti, the recipe of which I shall share in another post
