Topse Fish is a one bone fish and is an expensive river fish available in Calcutta. I love having Topse Fish fry either as an Entree for lunch or with my afternoon tea or coffee. Today I made and enjoyed my afternoon coffee. Very tasty and simple to cook
Serves -2 people
Preparation time -10 mins, Cooking time- 15 mins
Ingredients
6 pieces medium size Topse Fish
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp ginger chopped fine
1/2 tsp kalonji
2-3 green chillies chopped fine
6-7 Tbsp besan or Chickpea Flour
Salt as per taste
Oil to fry
Method
Wash the fish pieces well. In a bowl add besan or chickpea flour and add chopped ginger, chopped green chillies, kalonji, salt and mix well. Add water and keep whisking so that there is no lump. In a wok heat oil and slowly marinate the fish pieces in the Besan and deep fry in oil. Each side should take 1-2 mins. Flip to the other side. Keep the fried fishes on a kitchen towel to absorb the extra oil. Serve on a platter and garnish with green chillies and lime rings
