Chana Dal Pakode

It’s raining incessantly in Calcutta and the best way to beat this weather is have Pakode’s of various kinds alongwith either Tea or Coffee. I chose to make Chana Dal Pakode and enjoyed with Kesar Tea. Any Pakode with any kind of Dal really tastes great.

Serves -2 people

Preparation time -10 mins, Cooking time -10 mins

Ingredients

1/2 cup Chana Dal

1/2 cup Rice flour

1 medium size onion chopped

1 medium size carrot grated

Few curry leaves

Sprig of coriander leaves chopped

1 lime juice

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

1-2 green chillies chopped

Oil to fry

Salt as per taste

Method

Roast the Chana Dal. Blend in a blender with cumin seeds. Set aside. Add all chopped vegetables, coriander leaves, curry leaves, lime juice, green chillies, rice flour and salt to the Dal. Mix well and make a dough with little water. Make small balls. In a wok heat oil and shallow fry the balls. Enjoy with your favourite beverage
