Shrikhand is said to have connection with Lord Krishna as curd is the base or rather milk product and we Indians know that Lord Krishna loved milk or milk products. So as a dessert Shrikhand originating in Maharashtra as Amrakhand is very popular. In Maharashtra people have it with Poori’s as a part of main course. Ingredients
1.5 cups hung curd
1 Tbsp dried rose petals
1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
1 tsp cardamom powder
1 Tbsp chopped blanched almonds
1 Tbsp chopped pistachios
1 tsp Gulkand
3 Tbsp Rose syrup
For Garnish dried rose petals
Method
From 3 cups curd make 1.5 cups hung curd by straining on a muslin cloth overnight. Stir to make it smooth, add nutmeg powder, cardamom powder and stir. Add chopped pistachios, almonds, Gulkand and strain through a strainer to prevent any lumps. Add Rose syrup and mix well. Add to a lip lock bag to pour into a serving glass. Tap to release air. Garnish with chopped Rose petals and enjoy Shrikhand
