Mulo Chingri

Mulo or Radish with Shrimps or Chingri is quite a popular dish amongst people of Calcutta and I can’t be far left behind. I love both Mulo and Chingri so on Sunday decided to make Mulo Chingri

Preparation time -15 mins, Cooking time -15 mins

Ingredients

1-2 Mulo or Radish

100 gms Chingri or Shrimps

1/2 tsp panchphoron

1 bay leaf

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp red chilli powder

1 medium size onion chopped fine

1/2 tsp cumin powder

1/2 tsp coriander powder

1/2 tsp garam masala powder

Oil

Salt as per taste

Method

Wash and peel the Mulo. Cut fine. Marinate with salt and set aside. Smear the Chingri with turmeric powder and salt. In a wok heat oil and fry the chingri, set aside. In the same oil add panchphoron, bay leaf and add the mulo. Fry for a little time. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and stir well. Mulo will release water and no need to add salt. Add fried Chingri and stir well. Add garam masala powder, set aside and cover. Enjoy hot with rice
