Patrani Machi

Navroz Festival or the New Year for Parsi Religion people is all about varied range of dishes and each one can beat the other one in taste. One such is Patrani Machi or in other words Fish cooked in a leaf and in this case Banana leaf. In West Bengal state and many other Eastern states of India cooking fish in banana leaf or pumpkin leaf is quite common. Mostly boneless fish or fish fillet is wrapped in banana leaves and either steamed or shallow fried. I used whole Pomfret and I shallow fried #Navroz #foodie #MadhusKitchen #thekolkatabuzz
